Loyalty Points Calculator Update Notes
The Loyalty Points Calculator tool has been updated to consider the date of travel when estimating the Loyalty Points earned on an itinerary. By entering the date of travel, the Loyalty Points may be more accurately estimated by using the relevant factors that may have changed in the past or will change in the future.
This change was made in response to the Loyalty Points earned when flying British Airways and Iberia changing from mileage-based to fare-based on October 18, 2023. The change also takes into account that Loyalty Points will no longer be earned when flying JetBlue after January 31, 2024.
The date of travel may be selected by using the new date picker at the bottom of the Segment Calculator and Tabular Comparison pages. If no date is selected, the date of travel is assumed to be the current day.
If the selected fare is only valid for a particular range of travel dates, a message will be displayed in the calculation result.
If the travel itinerary is split across multiple date ranges, calculate the Loyalty Points separately using the relevant dates of travel for the most accurate estimation.
In addition, special fares have been moved to the Fare Code selection menu, which may be found by selecting the "Special Fares" tab when a relevant airline is selected.
